  i'm just curious how many of you that have/had a home security system used the code '1914'?.

  i know around here you could have broken into any jw's home on a sunday morning using it.. outaservice (who changed his code to 1975!

  i'm a newbie around here.

  i have only posted once but i've come in here almost every day to read for about the past month.

  this place has been therapeutic for me as i'm currently trying to make my exit out of the borg.

  Hundreds burnt to death in Tanzanian witch-hunt

  lynch mobs have killed hundreds of tanzanians whom they accuse of witchcraft as black magic hysteria sweeps east africa.

  most of the usually elderly victims have been beaten or burnt to death by gangs of youths.

  some old women have been singled out simply because they have red eyes - regarded as a sign of sorcery by their assailants.

  Thank you for your “research” into private military matters. The “missing” 2.3 trillion is, in fact, a matter easily explained, but unfortunately to disclose it would be a breach of national security, rendering our great nation helpless before marauding bands of international accountants.

  Now, that fine young man, Borgfree, was right on the money when he said it must be for top secret projects that nobody has ever heard of, such as the stealth bomber, or the presidents brain.

  You could learn a lot from Borgfree, Abaddon. Anyone would think you believed that how we spend the tax payers money was anybodies business anyway! What are you, anyway, some kind of God-damn Communist or what? Oh, and get your hair cut, you look like a girl, you God-damn hippie!

  Hi Star,

  The most important thing is your family. If you tip the elders off with a DA letter at this point they may advise your husband to leave you if you are a "spiritual danger" to him. I don't want to freak you out but that is precisely what they may do. You may end up being demonised in your husbands eyes which will undermine your relationship and keep his mind under borg control.

  It is only my suggestion, but try & put up with the harrassment about not going to the meetings - use the usual excuses - whilst you "work" on freeing your husbands mind. Why not get "Combatting Cult Mind Control, by Steve Hassan, as it is NOT about the witnesses but about the Moonies, so he might read it, and it should create a degree of dissonance. Or just show him quotes from the Watchtower re organ transplants etc.

  I would really hate to come back here in a few months and see you post about how the borg have broken your family up.

  Religious Authority an Enemy of Truth?

  any person who has a decent knowledge of world history especially as reguards new scientific understanding know that religious authorities both christian and pagan have done much to suppress truth.. the reason for the supression is,.. it contradicts there religious teahings.. a question that begs for the asking:.

  how much farther would have science advancements if religion did not fight against new understandings?.

  too be fair many religious people have been good scientist, and have not let common held religious beleifs, hold them back.. .

  One of the greatest destroyers of civilisations throughout history was disease. Religion has held back scientific discoveries that help us to contain or eradicate disease, so, yes, religion has helped to hold back the continuous advancement of scientific knowledge. I wonder how many times in history civilisation has been set back to zero?

  As for authority in general, it is needed for law and order, which science needs as much as anyhthing else. Also, there are scientific authorities that help teach the next generation, provide arrangements for peer review of new discoveries etc, as well as organise expensive projects that would be out of reach for most scientists working alone.

  So I suppose i think religious authority is bad, but secular authority is (generally) good.

  Young JW murdered

  got the news through the week that a victim of a fatal bashing was a 22-year old jw.

  apparently he was a very soft and fragile sort of a guy, but when his group confronted by another leaving the movies he got pushed/hit and hit his head on the ground.

  he sufferd brain damage and later died.. a very sad event for everyone who knew him and i'm sure it somthing of regret for everyone that an apparently decent guy was so unexpectedly killed just going to the movies at the local cinima.. here's a local news report: http://www.thewest.com.au/20020207/news/state/tw-news-state-home-sto43432.html

  Very sad story.

  Almost certainly the local elders will ban dubs from either:
  - going to that cinema
  - going to all cinemas
  - seeing that film
  - seeing all films
  - or all of the above

  And I'm not joking. It happened here with regards to all ice-skating when two dub lads had a fight at the ice-rink.

  May I ask if you believe, for example, if Jesus was responsible for the decision to ban organ transplants as cannibalistic, then to reverse the decision several years later after who knows how many loyal dubs were injured or died?

  If Jesus was not behind it then who was? And to whom were the injured/dead dubs loyal to?

  If you do not know about this I will pull out the references for you.
